Women in Film 2019 | Season Pass

Description

REMEDY FOR RAGE
Women in Film 2019
2 to 5 Oct 2019

Season Pass to all 5 screenings: $35

Women in Film is part of Objectifs' annual Women in Film and Photography showcase. In recent years, communities across the world have responded to enduring social, gender, racial and economic inequality through collective actions such as #Metoo, the Occupy movement and Black Lives Matter. At the heart of it, such movements are often fueled by anger and frustration at an ostensible lack of political will or means to effect systemic change.

Our fifth edition Women in Film presents the Singapore premiere of five international feature films that demonstrate how women filmmakers have created works that speak to local and global concerns, exploring how rage against discrimination, repression and injustice can be channeled into a force for awareness, action and change through art. Through these works, the programme aims to celebrate, enrich and underline the necessity of diverse voices and representation. Co-curated by Leong Puiyee and Kelly Leow.

Click on the links below to find out more about each film and to purchase individual tickets ($8 each) or a Season Pass at $35 to watch the following five films. 3 of the films are followed by a post-screening discussion that, in the spirit of this year’s theme, seeking to foster conversation about the issues depicted and to consider them in a local context as well.
